My faith has guided my steps throughout my journey in life. Whether it has been pursuing education or fighting for justice and equality, the spirit of Diwali deserves the global recognition and celebration of over one billion people around the world. India, being the most diverse place on the globe has gifted this holiday to encourage humanity to fight evil and ignorance that spurs hate and division. Now more than ever with the rise in hate crimes
against Asian Americans in particular, the opportunities to celebrate together and share about our diverse cultures is more important than ever. For me personally, diversity has been the spice of life which I am lucky to enjoy as an Indian, New Yorker and former diplomat who learned so much from the over 45 countries I have visited. I appreciate the experiences these worlds within the world have given me. Diversity is good practice business too. To have diversity of thought at the decision making tables has proven most profitable for those boards who pursue it.
Nature itself thrives by diversity and I believe that in time humanity will appreciate that likewise we do too. Happy Diwali to one and all!
